Why they do it
My friends Mark and Lynn were in the road show company of My One and Only (Tommy Tune headlined on the road–nice, huh?). Many celebrities would come to pay their respects.
One day Fred Astaire came backstage. One of the dancers in the cast shouted out, “You’re the reason we’re here.”
Mr. Astaire replied, “You’re the reason I did it.”
Huh? What the hell does that mean – “You’re the reason I did it”? Sounds disingenuous to me. How could he do something for people down the line he didn’t even know? I think he went into a dancing career because (1) he liked it; (2) he didn’t have other skills; and (3) he was good at it — NOT because for other dancers. What B/S.
I have nominated this funny little blog for a Versatile Blogger Award – aren’t you excited? If you’re mildly curious, head over to my blog http://typicaltracy.wordpress.com/ and read all about it.
Thanks for your interest, Tracy!
